I’m based in Japan, where it’s hard not to get curious about skincare. Walk into almost any drugstore and you’ll find shelves full of sunscreens, moisturizers, cleansers, and products you’ve probably never heard of.
And then there are the Korean brands, which have become just as much a part of the beauty scene here.
With so many options, I often find myself looking beyond the packaging. What’s actually in this product? How is it different from the others? And is it worth trying?
That’s the kind of curiosity that led me to start MonoMemo.
A little about this blog
Here, I write about skincare products available in Japan, particularly Japanese and Korean brands.
Some articles look more closely at ingredients. Others compare products or explore common skincare questions.
I spend time researching these topics because I enjoy understanding how products work, not just what their packaging promises.
I don’t have all the answers, and I don’t think there’s one perfect skincare routine for everyone.
